We were very sad to hear the news that Ghassan Barrage, who was instrumental in opening up and expanding the Middle Eastern market for Arthur D. Little during the 1980s and 90s, died on May 16, 2021, aged 69.
Ghassan, who was Lebanese, was one of the first professionals from the Arabic world to enter the consulting industry when he joined McKinsey & Co in 1976. He subsequently joined ADL in 1980 and remained with the company for 20 years, where he managed a team of consultants working on both private sector and governmental projects, mainly in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Ghassan went on to work with Booz & Co. He retired in 2014, but continued to offer pro-bono consulting services to various charities and NGOs.
Those who worked with him at ADL remember an inspirational leader who imparted both camaraderie and wisdom to his team, while his clients will attest to the positive contribution he made to transforming their organizations.
We would like to extend our sincere condolences to his family while being assured that his qualities and achievements will remain in our memories for many years to come.
